Fall in love with acryl painting

Acrylic paints are a relatively young creative medium. Nevertheless, creating with them has become one of the most popular and most used techniques in a short time not only at schools but also among artists.

Painting with acrylic paints captivated the creative enthusiasts mainly thanks to the great color properties, easy implementation and great results.

Acrylic paints based on polyacrylic resin are while still wet and fresh water-soluble. After drying, however, they become stable and water resistant. A special film, which is flexible, non-brittle, resistant to aging and external influences, is formed on the surface after the drying.

Did you know...

  • Acrylic paints are a young art medium that has only been used since the 2nd half of the 20th century.

  • The specific properties of all KOH-I-NOOR HARDTMUTH acrylic paints are high pigment content, color light fastness and resistance to aging.

  • The advantages of acrylic paints include availability to be well mixed between each other and short drying time.

  • KOH-I-NOOR HARDTMUTH offers 32 different shades of acrylic paints of the highest quality.

This technique also has a great advantage in the possibility of use on various surfaces. You can paint with it not only on cardboard paper, but also on wood, hardboard or some of the canvases we have on offer.

However, it is important to prepare the surface thoroughly. You should not forget to prime the canvas, which will prevent the paint from sticking too much into the surface and changing the color properties.

You can choose from oil, acrylic and latex primers. If you are going to embark on a more 3D work, you can use an acrylic texture paste, which after drying creates a smooth, matte and waterproof surface. After creating the ideal base, there is nothing stopping you from starting to create.

As the development of acrylic paints is constantly going forward, you can also find in our range, in addition to 32 different shades, paints with specific properties that will help you make simple painting a masterpiece. You might be interested in silver, gold, bronze or copper.

You can also enhance all colors with pearl medium, which you simply mix into them on a palette. As usual, we have prepared sets of acrylic paints or individual 40 ml tubes or 500 ml bottles.

In addition to paints, please also focus on choosing the right brush and mixing palettes. For painting with acrylic paints, we would recommend favorite Bristle brushes with natural coarse hair. The shape and size then depends mainly on the dimensions of the surface and the amount of paint you intend to apply. Flat brushes are more suitable for painting larger areas and pasty deposits, and you can choose round ones for thinner colors and smaller motifs. As for the pallet, you can choose between big and small wooden pallets.

So what do you think? Are you going to try it? You can also look for inspiration on social networks, where you will find, for example, a profile of the Croatian artist Jasmina Krajačić or the abstract painter Alex Kuznetsov from Belarus.
