Explore the possibilities of Wax Aquarell

Discover with us the charm of Wax Aquarell pastels with perfect drawing properties.

These Wax Aquarell pastels with a thick core in wooden packaging are suitable mainly for designers, artists, and illustrators, though it certainly doesn't mean that they won't come in handy for ordinary home drawing. On the contrary! Thanks to them, even simple sketches can become true masterpieces.

The interestingness of this medium resides in the ability of the pastels that are dry to draw like ordinary wax crayons. On top of that, they are water-soluble, just like aquarelle paints. How's that?

By emulsification, the chemists at the Koh-i-noor Hardtmuth laboratories changed the properties of the wax from water resistance to water solubility. In addition to wax, the pastels also contain the highest quality pigments and bleached kaolin, guaranteeing them beautiful rich shades.

Apart from using brushes, Wax Aquarell pastels can also be diluted with a sponge, piece of cloth, sprayer, and by hand. Thanks to their wider diameter, Wax Aquarell pastels are easy to hold.

They can be used for painting on various types of paper, from aquarelle paper to glazed or textured ones. You can also use them for drawing on canvas stretched on a frame or glued to a fibreboard. When used for painting on ordinary smooth paper, you'll surely be amazed by the resulting velvety look of the artwork.

In our stores and online, Wax Aquarelle pastels are available in sets of 12 or 24 pieces, while the sets in tin boxes also contain a brush, sharpener, and graphite pencil. More experienced persons will favor some of our round brushes from the Squirrel collection you also find in our assortment.

In addition to prepared sets, the pastels can also be purchased separately, including in gold and silver colors that give the painting an attractive metallic color effect. In total, these wax aquarelle pastels are available in incredible 48 colors.
