Create scratched pictures with your kids
Are you looking for a fun yet effective art technique that will engage both children and adults? Then you've come to the right place.
In this post, we're going to show you a scratching technique that even the little ones can master with your help.
You will only need a few basic things, namely a cardstock, wax crayons, Indian ink, a brush and a sharp tool for scratching. Once you have all these ready, you can get to work with us.
The first thing to do is to create a background on the cardstock using wax crayons. We will leave the pattern to everyone's imagination. From our point of view, however, the more colourful the better.
Next comes the Indian ink part, which the kid might need some help with. The layer of ink should be even and well dried. Now you can proceed to the next and final step.
Using a sharp tool, start scratching any motif of your choice into the dried ink layer. Thanks to the mutual resistance of wax and ink, the scratching will produce an original picture that certainly deserves to be posted on a wall.
And how did the scratched pictures turn out for you? Let us see them, we are curious!
